Merry Meet Again!
Lately, I've been noticing how each moonphase effects me. For example, a few days before the full moon, usually on the last days of the phase before I feel out of place, paranoid and scatter brained. Everyone so far has told me that it's common for people to feel odd during a full moon, however what's not common is that on a new moon I feel revitalized, refreshed, comfortable.
Often when I'm feeling strange, like, really tired or sick I have to check the moonphase. Usually this never fails to help me understand what's going on so I'm able to meditate and ground myself to help cope with the phase.
Q: "Why do you think grounding yourself helps with the changing moon?"
A: "I don't think this, I know this helps because it's restablishing a connection with the earth which gives me nourishment and means of life. It centers my chakras and helps my energies mesh easier with eachother."
Now I promised to give some insight on my spirit animal.
For my 20th birthday I received a book on how to discover your own spirit animal. It's an amazing little book that's only about sixty pages long, but it gives you ways on how to unconsciously and consciously meditate on your guide. My first try with one of the first three techniques listed, and I was successful.
Q: "What was the technique?"
A: "Well it's quite simple. Just before bed, take a glass of water and wrap your hands aorund it, envision a white light emitting from your hands and soaking into the water. Comfortably sip at it, feel the energy soaking into your limps while you repeat to yourself 'I will remember my dreams' as many times you feel comfortable with, while drinking the water and before you fall asleep. While you're laying down covered in blankets continue to repeat it. All that's left is to fall asleep."
Q: "And that really worked? What were your results?"
A: "Yes. I fell asleep, my 'dreams' took me to the woods which happened to be an evergreen forest covered in snow. I wasn't cold, just wandering through the forest gleefully when I climbed one of the several trees and jumped into the sky. Well, instead of plummeting to the ground, I was flying in no time, soaring magestically through the winter sky. I joined a flight of eagles or hawks, which I found strange but did not question this. Just as I turned to ask one of the birds where they were taking me I flew head first into one of the tall pines and soon after I tumbled down into the snow when my alarm went off to wake up my boyfriend."
Q: "Did you repeat the process?"
A: "Yes. Once I repeated the processs of drinking the water and repeating the phrase while falling asleep, I continued from the forest floor. Once I stood I was escorted by a variety of animals to my final location. I was standing before a pool of water in a waterfall setting, talking to a canine perched upon the largest rock."
Q: "Did you ever try again, to communicate with your spirit animal?"
A: "One more time, which was successful then too. Once I repeated the beginning process and fell asleep, I was soon runnin through the familiar Pennsylvania Mountaintop fields. There was labored breathing beside me, and when I had the gumption to look beside me I was stunned to realize several things. First, I wasn't running on two legs, but on four; Second, I was running alongside the same canine I had seen before; Third, there were no other animals around, just us. Before I could ask any questions my eyes flew open at the shrieking scream of my alarm."
Now, a few weeks after my discovery my boyfriend and I travelled to New Hampshire for my birthday. Once we were there, his mother googled the local 'new age' shops which then lead us to the most amazing stores I will ever set foot in. One of which is where I talked to a middle aged witch who was all too shocked to hear I had just discovered my spirit animal. When I asked why he was so shocked, he indulged in telling me that it was not exactly a common thing for someone my age to happen upon. This made me feel special. Silly but true.
I do however, think that is enough for one blog post.

Late night boredum
Merry Meet World!
Let me start off this blog with saying, if you think being a practicing Pagan Witch is a crime, go the fuck away. I don't have time for ignorance.
I'm twenty years old and have been practicing for two solid years but researching the subject of Paganism for five. I am a military supporter, more than half of my family is actively serving or veterans and this probably stemmed into me falling in love with a United States Air Force Staff Sergeant.
there's really not much for me to tell other than i'm hopelessly addicted to books, right now i'm currently whoring on two, Practical Magic and the Vampire Chronicles. I often joke that I'm a book whore, cheating on Anne Rice with Alice Hoffman. lol.
And as of right now, I'm failing at this openig post miserably. Late night television has successfully distracted me, the cold making me tired and worsening my headache making it hard for me to stare at the bright screen in this milky darkness.
I'll end it but know, my next post will be taking a look into my journey of discovering my spirit animal :)
